Ogle County Sheriff’s Office stepping up traffic safety effortsĪs families and friends plan their end-of-summer celebrations for Labor Day weekend, The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Illinois State Police and law enforcement across the state to stop impaired driving and help save lives. Baldwin was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held pending a court appearance in front of a judge. Baldwin was additionally issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage, speeding over 26-34 mph over the speed limit, use of headset receivers, expired registration, and use of an electronic communications device. Baldwin was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Fleeing to Elude a Police Officer. A short time later, Deputies located the driver, Steven Baldwin, age 59 of Rochelle and vehicle in the 400 block of N. Deputies pursued the vehicle before losing sight of the vehicle in Rochelle.

Deputies attempted to make contact with the driver of a green Pontiac Grand Prix, but the male driver refused to cooperate before leaving the scene and traveling eastbound on IL Rte. On at approximately 1513 hours Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of S. Ogle County was assisted by Illinois State Police District One. Larson was subsequently transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Larson was issued citations for Reckless Driving, Speeding, Improper Lane Usage and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

Larson was additionally charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Crack/Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Crack/Cocaine, Possession of LSD with Intent to Distribute, Possession of LSD, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Clonzepam), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID, Possession of Stolen Plates, Driving While License Revoked and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The pursuit came to rest at mile marker 112, at which time the driver, identified as Patrick Larson, age 22 of Rochelle was placed under arrest for Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer. The offending vehicle failed to stop, at which time Deputies pursued the vehicle. On 9/2/22 at approximately 0118 hours, Ogle County Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on I-39 near mile marker 105. 3 citations for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.3 citations for Using A Cell Phone While Driving.
